ASX:WHC:

Our first open cut mine

Since mining at Canyon ceased in July 2009 after nine years of production, the site has undergone extensive rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation is an important part of the life cycle of a mine and where applicable, we rehabilitate disturbed land to align with pre-mining vegetation communities such as pasture, woodland and forest.

Rehabilitation is nearly complete at Canyon. The majority of surface infrastructure, including all coal handling and processing infrastructure has been removed and the mine site rehabilitated. Minor rehabilitation works, maintenance and environmental monitoring is ongoing.
