Join us for a fantastic day at the 2024 Whitehaven Coal Community Open Day at Boggabri Showground!

Enjoy food, activities, market stalls, rides and entertainment, plus get up close to Whitehaven Coal’s impressive mining machinery. Learn first-hand about Whitehaven’s coal mining operations with guided bus tours departing every 30 minutes from the Showground to the Maules Creek Coal Mine site.

Maules Creek Coal Mine Site Tours

Anyone wishing to attend a guided bus tour must pre-register before the event. Those taking part in a mine tour must wear enclosed shoes, long sleeves and long pants. Please note, if you do not wear the appropriate clothing you will not be allowed on the bus.

Jump on a guided bus tour of Maules Creek Coal Mine! Check out the view from the lookout and learn all about Whitehaven Coal’s day-to-day coal mining operations.

Bus tours will depart from Boggabri Showground every 30 minutes from 10am. Tours will take approximately 1.5 hours and will return to Boggabri Showground at their conclusion.
