Managing Director and CEO, Paul Flynn said:
“Whitehaven has had a strong start to FY27, with September quarter managed ROM production of 11.0Mt and equity sales of 6.0Mt.
“Both our Queensland and New South Wales operations delivered good operational outcomes, with solid ROM production and unit costs at the low end of our FY27 guidance range, despite elevated diesel costs.
“Customer demand remained strong and coal prices continued to strengthen during the September quarter.
“Sales volumes were solid, although export terminal disruptions at both RG Tanna and PWCS resulted in sales slipping from the September quarter into the December quarter.
“With stronger coal prices and the deferred and contingent payments for the Queensland acquisition nearing completion, Whitehaven is well positioned to generate stronger cash flows and increase financial flexibility over the remainder of FY27.”
