Donation to Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal

Whitehaven Coal has donated an additional A$150,000 to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal after receiving a rebate of more than $100,000 from rail partner Aurizon for its component of the haulage of a shipment of thermal coal destined for Ukraine.

The shipment was part of the Australian Government’s package of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine announced in March, at which point Whitehaven contributed A$250,000 to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Whitehaven is proud to have been a part of this humanitarian effort and to help deliver the inputs for essential energy and heating in circumstances of extreme and ongoing suffering for the people of Ukraine.
