Central Queensland Capras announce major community partnership with Whitehaven

The Rockhampton Leagues Club Central Queensland Capras are proud to announce a major community partnership with Whitehaven, strengthening the club’s ability to grow rugby league and deliver positive social outcomes across Central Queensland.

The partnership brings together two organisations with deep roots in the region and a shared commitment to supporting strong, healthy and connected communities. Through the collaboration, the Capras will expand their footprint across the Central Highlands and Isaac regions via community games, rugby league clinics, and school engagement programs.

Whitehaven Coal Regional General Manager Queensland, Dan Iliffe, said the partnership reflects Whitehaven’s long-standing connection to Central Queensland and its people.

“Whitehaven’s operations in Central Queensland have a long and proud history with the region,” Mr Iliffe said.

“The CQ Capras are one of the most well-supported brands in regional sport and we are proud to be partnering with them to grow and develop rugby league in Central Queensland.”

“Through our partnership we will bring the Capras into communities right across the Central Highlands and Isaac regions through games, clinics and school visits.”

Central Queensland Capras CEO Peter White welcomed the partnership, highlighting the significant impact it will have on grassroots participation, player development pathways, and community wellbeing throughout the region.
