Board appointment – Ms Wallis Graham

Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX: WHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Wallis Graham to the Company’s Board of Directors.

Ms Graham joins the Whitehaven Coal Board as an independent non-executive Director with a breadth of governance experience and more than 20 years working in global finance roles including in funds management, corporate finance, private equity and investment banking.

Ms Graham is currently a Director of Servcorp Limited, where she chairs the Remuneration Committee, and is a Director of several not-for-profit organisations in education, the arts and medical research. She also holds a Senior Consulting role with Energy Capital Partners.

Whitehaven’s Chairman, the Hon Mark Vaile AO, warmly welcomed Ms Graham to the Board.

“Wallis will bring her significant understanding of global capital flows, corporate financing and funds management to help guide the company as it seeks to navigate increasingly complex and evolving financial markets”, Mr Vaile said.

Ms Graham said she was looking forward to serving on the Board of one of Australia’s leading resources companies.

“Whitehaven has a demonstrated track record of effective capital management during what has been an extremely dynamic decade for energy market participants.”

“The challenge for the business is how it can leverage its strong commercial performance in recent years to deliver continued value for shareholders over the longer term and I am looking forward to being able to make a meaningful contribution to this effort”, Ms Graham said.

Ms Graham has spent more than two decades in diverse finance roles in New York and Australia with Goldman Sachs, Saks Inc, Forstmann Asset Management, Pequot Capital and Energy Capital Partners.
