1693 Bluevale Road Gunnedah

Join Whitehaven Coal and the Dorothea Mackellar Memorial Society for a delightful day of family fun and a celebration of local history at the Kurrumbede Open Day this June Long Weekend!

Take a step back in time and explore the history of the heritage-listed Kurrumbede property, originally owned by the iconic Mackellar family, as its grounds and historic buildings are open to the public to enjoy.

Featuring pony rides, family activities, live entertainment and demonstrations, market stalls and delicious food. The day will be an opportunity to learn about the history of the property, and the family of the famed poet Dorothea Mackellar.

The theme of the day is 1930’s Garden Party, and visitors are invited to get involved and dress in their best garden party attire.

Located 25 kilometres north of Gunnedah on the Namoi River, Kurrumbede is an iconic piece of local history that has only been opened to the public twice in the last 100 years.
