As Whitehaven Coal prepares to bid farewell to its Werris Creek mine site, we’re inviting the whole community for a day of family fun at the Whitehaven Coal – Werris Creek Coal Mine Community Open Day, on Saturday, 28th October!
Held at Quirindi Showground, the event will include food, fun, family activities and market stalls, plus visitors will have the chance to learn about Whitehaven Coal’s history in the region and see some mega mining machinery!
You can also get a final behind the scenes look at Whitehaven Coal’s Werris Creek mine site, with FREE bus tours leaving the showground every 20 minutes!
Werris Creek Mine Site Tours
Register for a FREE guided bus tour of the Werris Creek Coal mine site! Check out the view from the lookout, and learn all about the history of the mine, as well as some of Whitehaven Coal’s day-to-day coal mining operations.
All bus tours will depart from Quirindi Showground every 20 minutes from 10am. Tours will take approximately 1.5 hours and will return to Quirindi Showground at the conclusion.
Anyone wishing to attend a guided bus tour must pre-register prior to the event via the link below. Hurry, limited seats available!
